The contract gives Anthropic access to more than 300 megawatts of capacity from SpaceX’s Colossus 1 data center in Memphis. That’s enough power for roughly 250,000 American homes. One AI company. One contract.

Two years ago the AI race was about who had the smartest model. Today it’s about who can plug in.

Training and serving frontier models is now a logistics problem. Land, power, water for cooling, fiber. The companies racing to lock those up are the ones who will be selling AI in 2027.

For operators picking AI vendors, this matters. The model you’re using stays available only if your vendor has compute.

When demand spikes, the constraint is the data center.
